Designer
Michael Babcock
Michael Babcock began working with type a year after graduating with a BFA in painting in 1986. He discovered letterpress while working in advertising production in 1989 and two years later started interrobang with a Vandercook SP15 and a dusty rack of 19th century type. From that humble beginning he’s amassed one of the largest collection of fine mid 20th century type and linecasting matrices in New England. A “process guy with an eye,” he’s as comfortable with the technical as he is with type, and has over 30 years of typographic and book production experience.
