I just received this photo from the marbler who is working on the Lettered edition of The Haunting of Hill House. These are the endpapers that will grace the front and back boards of this edition. The design is an homage to the classic 1st edition dust jacket art by the famous book cover designer Paul Bacon.
These are black Canson papers that have been hand-stamped with ferns in multiple iridescent colors, and then marbled using a traditional small stone pattern. The process of paper marbling dates all the way back to the 10th century, a method of aqueous surface design, its appeal being that each print is its own unique monotype.

Oh that’s cool. I had no idea it was based on the first edition. Only because I don’t think I’d ever seen the true first edition before I found out you guys were doing one. Really nice touch!

Looks great!
Not being on the list for Lettered edition, it would be a nice touch if you inserted some leftover swatches of the endpaper (assuming there are some) in random Numbered editions. Would be a cool piece of ephemera for any lucky enough to get it in their copy.
