Announcement Schedule – January – March 2023

December 19, 2022

Hi, friends! I am excited to share that we will be announcing three new titles for the first quarter of 2023. For those who like to plan ahead, here are a few hints about what’s to come:

January

On Wednesday, January 18th at 9 a.m. PT, I will broadcast live on Facebook with some updates and giveaways. We will announce the first title of the year on Thursday, January 19th at 9 a.m. PT, at which time the Artist edition will be available for pre-order. Matching Pre-Orders will also begin at this time, going to Lettered and Numbered owners of Hannibal Rising with a designation of 1-250. If there are any copies of the Lettered or Numbered editions remaining after the Matching Pre-Orders, depending on quantities these copies will be available for purchase either by lottery or directly through the online store beginning on Saturday, January 21st at 9 a.m. PT.

This masterwork of contemporary literature was the first novel the author wrote, although it was his third to be published. The book is available in three states: Lettered, Numbered and Artist. The Lettered edition is limited to 26 copies, the Numbered edition is limited to 250 copies, and the Artist edition is limited to 750 copies. The Lettered and Numbered editions are signed by the author of the introduction, the author of the afterword and the artist. The Artist edition is signed by the artist.

February

On Wednesday, February 15th, I will broadcast live from Facebook at 9 a.m. PT. We will announce this title the following day, Thursday, February 16th at 9 a.m. PT, at which time the Artist edition will be available for pre-order. Matching Pre-Orders will also begin at this time, going to Lettered and Numbered owners of the title announced on January 19th, as well as to Numbered owners of Hannibal Rising with a designation of 251-350. If there are any copies of the Lettered or Numbered editions remaining after the Matching Pre-Orders, depending on quantities these copies will be available for purchase either by lottery or directly through the online store beginning on Saturday, February 18th at 9 a.m. PT.

A searing portrayal of a family set in the 1940s criminal underworld, this novel took the world by storm upon its release, selling over nine million copies in two years. Three years after its release, it would be adapted into an iconic film which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

The book is available in three states: Lettered, Numbered and Artist. The Lettered edition is limited to 26 copies, the Numbered edition is limited to 350 copies, and the Artist edition is limited to 750 copies. The Artist edition is printed offset and is signed by the artist. The Lettered and Numbered editions are printed letterpress, and are signed by the author’s son who has written a note included in the edition, the author of the introduction who directed the Academy Award winning film, and the artist who has created fourteen copper plate intaglio illustrations for the edition. All of the illustrations in the Lettered edition are original impressions, hand printed by the artist from the copper plates.

March

On Wednesday, March 15th at 9 a.m. PT, I will broadcast live on Facebook. We will announce our final book of the quarter on Thursday, March 16th at 9 a.m. PT, at which time the Artist edition will be available for pre-order. Matching Pre-Orders will also begin at this time, going to Lettered owners of the title announced on February 16th, as well as Numbered owners of the title announced on February 16th with a designation of 1-310*. If there are any copies of the Lettered or Numbered editions remaining after the Matching Pre-Orders, depending on quantities these copies will be available for purchase either by lottery or directly through the online store beginning on Saturday, March 18th at 9 a.m. PT.

Weighing in at over 1250 pages, this is the complete collection of works written by one of the most important and influential American writers of the 19th century, whose stories continue to haunt. The book is available in three states: Lettered, Numbered and Artist. The Lettered edition is limited to 26 copies, the Numbered edition is limited to 310 copies, and the Artist edition is limited to 750 copies. The Lettered and Numbered editions are signed by the author of the introduction and the artist. The Artist edition is signed by the artist of the interior illustrations, as well as the artist who created a special painting for the dust jacket. I am particularly pleased to be finally announcing this book because we started working on it 4 years ago!

Offered at the same time is a limited edition of 155 copies of one of the author’s short stories. This publication is included with the Lettered edition, but can also be purchased separately. The edition is handset in foundry type and printed letterpress, with a wood engraving printed from the block. This short story edition carries no rights and will be available to purchase on March 16th, 2023.

* February 13th, 2023: Due to certain production issues, we have had to reduce the Numbered edition print from 350 to 310 copies.

It’s hard to believe this year is almost over. We hope you have enjoyed the titles we have annouced during the year, and we are looking forward to 2023. A little over a year ago, we sent out a survey asking our customers for their most favorite books by genre which they would like to see us publish. After many months of hard work, the coming year will see several of these titles finally announced.

Wishing you and your families a joyous holiday season and a happy new year. Thank you to everyone who has supported Suntup Editions over the years. I am immensely grateful for all of you.
