Dave McKean
Dave McKean is an award-winning British illustrator, designer, and filmmaker whose work spans graphic novels, book illustration, album design, and fine art. He illustrated the landmark Arkham Asylum and created the acclaimed graphic novel Cages, winner of the Harvey, Ignatz, Alph-Art, and La Pantera Awards. His collection Pictures That Tick won the Victoria & Albert Museum Illustrated Book of the Year Award.
A prolific book illustrator, McKean has produced distinctive editions for authors including Richard Matheson, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, Italo Calvino, Mervyn Peake, and the Strugatsky Brothers. His film work includes the award-winning MirrorMask and Luna, and his album covers have earned international recognition, including the Amid Award. Recent major projects include the graphic novels Raptor and Thalamus, the WWI commission Black Dog for the Imperial War Museum, and Prompt, exploring the creative implications of AI.
