Letterpress Printer
David Wolfe
David Wolfe opened Wolfe Editions in 1997 in the Bakery Studio Building in Portland, Maine. Since then, the shop has held scores of workshops, printed dozens of published works, and produced innumerable fine print editions. Although not a museum, most of the equipment used at the various points in production are old classics, including a Sturgis etching press, a Wells iron hand press, an Albion iron hand press, a Vandercook 223, two Heidelberg Windmills, a Golding Jobber #7, two Monotype composition casters, over thirty cases of antique wood type, over 100 cases of hand type, and more.
